The Chicago Kent Law School will host the Tech for Justice Hackathon + ABA TECHSHOW on March 12-13th, a multidisciplinary problem-solving event focusing on support for victims and survivors of domestic violence and those who aim to provide aid.

The goal is to create innovative community resolutions, supporting technologies, and plains for implementation with initiative collaborators and partners. Attendees are encouraged to come together and generate solutions that empower and serve those in vulnerable situations, by providing community-driven solutions supported by technology. Lawyers, judges, legal aid, technologists, domestic violence experts, activists, entrepreneurs, city and state representatives, business stakeholders, and any/all concerned individuals with a variety of skills and interests are urged to participate in this free public event.

The hackathon is from 9:30 A.M. Saturday, March 12, through  6:00pm March 13th at the Chicago Kent Law School – 565 W. Adams St. #2 Chicago, IL 60661.

Awards will be given to the top three groups, and prizes ranging from $500 to $1,000 will go to a local shelter of their choice. Those judging the event will include legal aid representatives, domestic violence advocates, domestic violence survivors, community organizers, and justice technology experts.

Mentors including but not limited to, legal, domestic violence, and technology experts will be present throughout the event.

Breakfast, lunch, snacks and refreshments with be served both days.
