Carol L. Schlein Starting in the days of DOS, Carol L. Schlein, founder and President of Law Office Systems, Inc., a legal technology consulting firm, has advised lawyers with selecting the right technology for their firms. For thirty-five years, she has helped hundreds of firms streamline procedures, provide better client service, and save firms time and money. Carol was one of the first women attorneys to transition from law practice to tech consulting. Carol was an active member of the ABA Law Practice Management Section, serving on the Council and as Chair of the Computer and Technology Division. Carol has been a prolific writer, authoring and contributing to many LPM publications. Carol spoke many times at ABA TECHSHOW in the first two decades. She wrote a monthly technology column for New Jersey Lawyer for over 15 years until the paper closed. Carol has been a member and a frequent speaker for many of the state and local bar associations in the NY metro area. She was a founding member of Lawtopia™ LLC, a national partnership of consulting firms.
As an active volunteer in her community, she designed and implemented systems to improve parent communication for the Montclair PTAs. She has been the Box Office Manager for the Montclair Film Festival. She is a board member of the Montclair Scholarship Fund and Montclair Gateway to Aging in Place and Co-President of the Montclair Women’s Club. She has recently volunteered with SmartSeniors Smart Phones which is pairing peer mentors with local seniors to help them bridge the digital divide. While most parents get tech support from their children, Carol’s adult children still come to her with their tech questions.
