Genie has been quoted in Engadget, Dexerto, and Dot Esports and is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), Japanese American Bar Association and Esports Bar Association.

She is also a Founding Partner of Immigration General Counsel, an immigration law firm in Los Angeles, California.
