Tom Mighell is Chief Operating Officer at Contoural, Inc., an information governance consultancy that helps organizations develop records management, litigation readiness, privacy and AI governance programs. Prior to joining Contoural, Tom practiced as a trial lawyer for 18 years with Cowles & Thompson and Dallas, where he also served as the firm’s Legal Technology Director.

An active member of the American Bar Association, Tom served on the ABA TECHSHOW Planning Board for 4 years, as TECHSHOW Chair in 2008 and as Co-Chair in 2018. He served as Chair of the ABA’s Law Practice Division from 2011-2012.

Tom has written several books aimed at helping lawyers integrate technology into their practice. His publications include “iPad in One Hour for Lawyers,” “iPad Apps in One Hour for Lawyers,” and “iPad in One Hour for Litigators,” all published by the ABA. His most recent book is “The Lawyer’s Guide to Collaboration Tools and Technologies: Work from Home Edition” with Dennis Kennedy.

Since 2007, Tom has co-hosted “The Kennedy-Mighell Report,” a legal technology podcast on the Legal Talk Network, where he and Dennis Kennedy discuss the latest trends in legal technology with an internet focus.
